Are these things amazing or what?
Saturday, September 23rd, was a historic event! Paul Taylor presented a drum clinic in the purest of forms to a curious, receptive crowd. With awesome precision, Paul demonstrated his knowledge and understanding of the bass and lead guitars’ roles in a band setting. Proficiently playing both instruments, he created live loops for songs and grooves to which he then accompanied himself on the drums, demonstrating his open-handed technique. Paul then emphasized the importance of tuning drum sets to reflect the different styles of music as he first played a rock/funk style kit and then a more traditional jazz kit. Amazing. . .
If you have not made it to one of the Memphis Drum Shop Featured Drummers of the Month clinics, I guarantee you are missing tons of knowledge concerning musicianship, drumming, and technique regardless of the style you play! These clinics have changed my life. The next clinic will be October 28th featuring Kent Stratton. Be there!

I happily attended Paul’s drum clinic in September. It was one of the absolute proudest moments of my life! As a musician, I can humbly say that Paul is one of the best, all round, musicians I have ever heard, or played with.
Not just as his father, but as a person that loves music, “Paul is a REAL gift to us all”.
If you weren’t there, believe me, you missed SOMETHING!
